In this day an age food insecurity is crazy grow some damn food
Somalia could increase its arable land if proper land management practices are implemented.Crop production is basically stagnant in the short term and falling in the medium to long term. Population growth is about 3-4%. Haven't produced a surplus since the 80s. Countries semi-arid, but unlike other countries in the same situation like Niger/Mali we don't have millions of hectares of arable land, or Oil/Gas to get hard currency to be able to pay for imports like Saudi Arabia

It could but it has little potential compared to most countries in Africa. We will probably have to import foreverSomalia could increase its arable land if proper land management practices are implemented.
the best lands are in nfd and ddsi. smh. especially in the mountain strip of ddsi with regular rainfall and milder temperaturs than konfuria. It could but it has little potential compared to most countries in Africa. We will probably have to import forever
True but we should reduce our country's heavy dependence on food imports. Somalia is unlikely to be self sufficient but we should be able to grow majority of our consumption. It could but it has little potential compared to most countries in Africa. We will probably have to import forever
I've shared a video talking about farming in Central Somalia.the best lands are in nfd and ddsi. smh. especially in the mountain strip of ddsi with regular rainfall and milder temperaturs than konfuria.
Somalis are still using old technology in farming, we are not using modern and scientific approaches to farming.
Check the video below, he talks about the soil type found in Southern Sool, Eastern Somali region and the Mudug/Galgaduud region and with soil salinity control we could have industrial farming in those regions.
