What on earth happened to you that you left Islam to become Christian? Please explain this to me. I’m flummoxed every time I see a Somali Christian. We even have an underground Somali congregation in my city. Jesus Christ!

I was driving my friend’s dad to work last month and the most awkward thing happened. At a red light, this old white man pulls up and is beside himself with joy when he sees us. He greets my passenger as Kristof (his name is Abdi, or so I thought).

At this point, the old man is telling me that Kristof is a member of his congregation and that he has been Christian for over a decade. Abdi is smiling and awkwardly looking around. They embrace and we get on our way. I didn’t say anything the rest of the way. That catholic prick qarxised the man for no goddamn reason. Good thing it was me and not his relatives.

I really do not understand it - Somali atheists are easier to look at than Somali Christians (which defies logic, it should be the other way around).
Some Somali Christians look identical to African Americans in photos, I can barely recognise them as Somali. It's like their whole physical appearance changes.

I think Bantu are more prone to it than other Somalis, hence the African American appearance. In addition they dress the part—you’ll see men growing well kept afros and women with short hair.

That is a fair point.
Seeing a Somali woman wearing a rosary is extremely bizarre, though, it's like looking into some alternate universe where Somalis were longtime Christians and Ethiopians were the muslims.
Unnerving to say the least.

The gospel happened. I enjoyed the sound of the church choir till I moved on to Buddhism. I am currently waging war on the muslims in rohingya.
