The Old Testament (the Torah) is not the text of the Christians and it's not the basis for Christianity; the Torah deals with Moses and other Jewish prophets; the New Testament is solely dedicated to Jesus and is the basis for the Christian faith.

Some Christian sects adhere to the old testament more than others. Ex. Abyssinian orthodox and St. Thomas Christians (Mar Thoma Nasrani) from Malabar both don't eat pork.
