So I had a lower back pain for a while now, I snapped it while doing Deadlifts. long story short I have heard about this treatment but never had the guts to go ahead with it. I just found out that my local gym had a chiropractor last week so I got booked in and got it done today...oh boy the cracking was real...as he worked his way up to my neck I panicked little bit and than boom my eyes got all teary as he crack the crap out of it. felt instant relieve on my lower back the tension has loosen up a bit but I have to go one more to complete the treatment as he did minor adjustment as he didn't want to snap more shit up.

so my question is, have any of you guys done it before?
if not will you be interested in getting one?

It is a bit scary.

My Primary Care Physician is what's called an Osteopath (same as an MD just trained to manipulate joints and shit) and he does adjustments for me every 4 months or so. It sucks because the manipulation isn't covered by my Health Insurance but it's worth it.

The big thing people say about chiropractors is "don't go because you'll have to keep coming back" but that's the fucking point. They're not fixing anything they're just relieving the tension on the spine.

I would get a referral to some specialist though (what I'm considering doing) to see if there isn't some underlying issue.

chiropractic treatment is like taking a medicine, you can't expect to get better on your first visit, they will have to examine and check your health history you will be told how many times you need to come back to get the treatment done. after that you don't have to go back that's what I have been told.

out of curiosity, what did you snap?lol

Dude why do people do this. Smh!

Go to Chiro ASAP. Also go to physiotherapy, they will help with any muscle imbalances. Usually when you f*ck ur back up or any muscle, other muscles in that region will have to compensate and carry the load. Don't fucking sit around and wait, you're health is something that should be of utmost importance to you. Also what was the diagnosis. Did he tell you? Sounds like a herniated disk

it wasn't that severe, hence why I went to chiro and not physiotherapy. but if the problem persists I am gonna have to go see a physio.

Tbh I think you'd benefit more from physiotherapy, They have a much broader set of skills and this sounds like a muscle issue. You probably pulled a muscle down there. If it's a muscle issue, have you ever considered getting therapeutical massage from a professional? It's amazing man. Since muscles are really fiber-y, once you get into a injury (or sometimes without a injury) your muscles become extremely tight and form into knots. That's why some people use those foam rollers to release the knots (myofascial release). I think that would help you a lot. Something for you to consider :nvjpqts:

I been doing track and field since i was 12 all the way up until uni, I have my fair share of injury experience.

You'll be back, trust me.

Just my upper back and neck (neck gets tense because back gets tense)

What position did u play. Not gonna front I warmed the bench my 2/3 years I played lool. Even tho i loved it, i wasn't that good at it until my last year i became ok. Kinda bugged me cuz i got good at every sport except rugby smh. I played fly half btw. Whenever we won scrums my scrum half would toss me the ball and I'd always never catch it. Fuckin rugby balls are so hard to catch man, my handling was always and will forever be poor

As a teenager I went to a chiropractor for 6 months. The chiropractor use to crack my lower back and hips. Getting your back cracked is the best feeling ever

It was for my left knee. I went to the physio and he showed while using a mirror with boxes and stripes that my left side was a bit longer than my right. He said its probably caused by my growth spurt, I was 14 at the time. So my knee on the left foot was overloaded. He was adjusting the hips. The lower back cracks were to relieve the tension. After 6 months my knee problems almost vanished.
