China really helped us a lot in the 70's and 80's we need to utilize their ability to build us quick infrastructure. They could all the ports and roads we need in less than 5 years and provide us with weapons. Both China and Russia want to more international allies to vote in favor with them in the UN, we can easily take advantage of that

We could use them to build us one of the largest ports, and we could lease our water for fishing to pay the debt for the port’s constructions. During the cold war I'm sure they needed a ally in that region. Same way they went in the middle east during the war on terror Americans were paranoid of communism in Asia. Same reason they invaded and failed horribly in Vietnam.

Russia was a powerhouse that were recruiting allies all over the world so they were desperate.

A country like Somalia needs a security partner who can protect shield so it can develop and grow.

Look how US has given security guarantees to to Israel and to Arabian Gulf countries and they used the space to then developed their country.

Now we are back to pre-2017 era of a shameful existence. They have given our army away to UAE.

What was the point of the picture below? They may help you grow, but all of the new jobs will go to them. They will come into your country and begin economically dominating you. China does what is best for China, and if that means screwing over one African country, that is what will happen Somalis should learn how to be self-sufficient.

the jobs will only go to them if you allow them to have them, they are currently developing Iraq and Iran in exchange for gas/oil but the Chinese companies are hiring locals to do the work. They are also developing Saudi Arabia but instead of hiring local Saudis they are hiring Indians

It all starts at the top. You need good leaders to get you good deals, when China was building the stadium in Xamar and the national highways in the 70s, the Chinese contractors worked with local Somalis and trained them.
