Will never happen. People will stop buying chinese stuff and then bye bye to chinese economy. They will never recover.
If they take over Taiwan they will have a monopoly on the semiconductor industry, whatever sanctions are thrown their way won't work or will be stopped. Taiwan is an effect US puppet state anyways, the only reason the US needs them is for semiconductors

They'll still take it end of day. I don't think a country with a million standing army cares losing tens of thousands, especially if the ends justify the means.

Everyone including the US knows china can conquer taiwan. Hence why Taiwans national defense policy resembles a porcupine. They want to Make an invasion and subsequent war too costly for CCP to justify to its domestic population.
Yes, Taiwan have been preparing for this since 1949.
There is no attack for Taiwan, just relentless defence of their coastline from any amphibious invasion.
Its not a Pointless conflict at all, China need Taiwan and their monopoly on semiconductor Chips, America using Taiwan is unacceptable to China

The same could be said for taiwan, they have a chronic manpower shortage and are undergoing a demographic collapse far worse than china.
Just to let you know Taiwans army is relatively small, and their reservists are a non factor. All conscripts only receive 4 months of training.

Taking an area from one coast point is a suicide mission. China will find it difficult to cross the ocean and will get picked off by Taiwanese missiles/planes. Those that make it to shore will get battered by machine guns.
They don’t need that many people, just more weapons.
