Secondly the reason SL is not recognised is because of Puntland. African union literally stated "we are not recognising Somaliland because we fear this will open pandoras box and spark other secessionist movements (referring to PL and JL) and we're committed to seeing a unified reconciled Somalia". In other words, in a world were PL and other autonomous states did not exist, SL would be recognised by now. We permanently fucked their chance of recognition. Thats the reason

I think , It's not that simple , there are a lot of reasons why it isn't recognized, some internal due to it's leadership and their incompetence in presenting their case to the world, and some external. recognizing Somaliland will open a pandora box especially in a continent laden with separatist movements and civil unrest , also most of the world powers believe they have little to nothing to gain from recognizing Somalialnd , it all comes down to what serves their interest.

wallahi when I look at Somalia and Somalis in general I think of that bright and talented kid full of potential who can easily achieve greatness but chose to be a homeless crackhead instead.

The pandoras box point has nothing to do with Punani or the rest of Somalia, I'm amazed how you can just make that shit up. This is exactly what the African Union said.

The African Union stated that Somalilands case is Unique due to the act of union between Somalia and SL never being ratified, and they clearly mentioned it will not open a pandora box of seccessionism in Africa

Somaliland has such a small population, little to no difference from other Somalis, occupying anti-independence lands, a clan state that is now even barring their own subclans from rolling and the status quo already works for the international community.

But it is true that Puntland killed the project. Now with a federal system where every region is now seeking autonomy and have their own Presidents there’s no chance the IC community entertain the idea. I mean letting federal states declare independency is a problem for every country especially our neighbours.

If Puntland is indeed a barrier for SL gaining recognition than it's high time SL helps centralize ex Italian Somalia so that our neighbour Somalia becomes a unitary state made up of 13 regions and under HAG rule from the eternal Somalian capital Mogadishu
