Somalis need to learn the art of diplomacy not just the art of the deal, in diplomacy well an effective one(as I did have access to ex diplomat circle from siyad era), the whole idea is you need to ensure your achieving your own govt interest or strategy identified to you by your govt thru their ambassador and diplomats find ways to ensure to see it thru(any means necessary) but the way their measured is on actually delivery of the objective and outcome and preferably in a way the target nation is happy and smiling(to ensure its longevity) so it's very stealth and machivellian but not in the way u assume as bad for u, they need partnership and u need to be happy or else it won't hold long term.
Somalia at the time was young country so it's diplomatic base wasnt anywhere near established as mature nations(they existed prior to ww2) or global powers. But Chinese are quite brilliant at it, we were stationed there and so elites then had alot access to a china that was shifting to deng ji ping outlook(let's eat while being cultural nazis) against Mao(cultural nazism and if we eat they will get compromised thru financial.means). Mao policy was actually quite spot on as u can manipulate Chinese on hunguri and short term shit as u see them head towards a direction u know will end unfavourable.
I always look at China because their is alot of history there and since alot of the ppl are hunguri focused the elites at the time wanted to use it as a means to penetrate and hand down cilm to my people(loot Chinese tactics historically) while their ppl are just busy eating perishable shit. Well that was Somali posture long term back then to develop human capital( we r third world), global powers have their own goals niyahow(usually economic and reducing production costs by offshoring to China), but everyone has a collective interest over global stability(unless your in disorder) as you may not see that now as ur benefit(due to black market and shady world and an edge that can be used to spread disorder and inherited real estate globally).
