Are they retarded? They could easily become much richer than Norway with its human capital, proximity to the US, and ratio of natural resources to population.

People have been duped into thinking booming population makes Canada better off. South Korea with the worst demographics on the planet, has higher growth rates than all of Latin America, and Canada, with its mass immigration policy, has the lowest productivity growth rate in the G7.

Labor scarcity in Canada the only way to ever get investment in productivity enhancing innovations, business owners would much rather just push to import desperate workers harder than invest in new technology. Booming population encourages rent seeking in real estate, and leaves young people with little leverage in the labor market.

What needs to happen is for immigration to end and for mass deportations to happen for Canada to fix itself. Like it has to be really cutting it down to 1/10 of what it is today.

Japanese young people are graduating with multiple job offers and have second holiday homes. Canada is getting so bad Ukrainian refugees are running away after they land.

It's pretty accurate. But I think it's too late, to actually fix the problem you'd need to be really draconian on this issue, because any political party that isn't explicitly anti immigration becomes pro immigration eventually.

PP isn't that guy, haven't even heard him talk about any points in that post you linked. Like the fact this isn't common knowledge is pretty shocking if the goal is to restrict immigration by a lot.
