I personally don't think so, and I find it ironic how some somalis are pro african over their own people, when our biggest oppressors are our fellow Africans. Just look at what's happening to somalis in South African, Ethiopia and Kenya.

What do you guys think ?

I'm not pro-african either.

Cadaans think arabs and south indians are different yet they share similar skin colour

Why should we belong in the same basket as other africans?

That is an obvious NO it is like saying im a kafir/murtad and pro ISIS. Somalism and pan-Madowism cant and will never get a long!

The reason I'm mentioning this btw is because lately I've been seeing so many somalis calling themselves pan-african and it baffles me.

I'm pan african not because I'd like us to be one country but that I'd like to see the success of africa as a whole and to see them break free of their mental chains. after that I would like to see a new african union, different to the corrupt european project in existence today.

I'm somewhat skeptical of pan-Africanism. Sure, it sounds nice in theory, but I feel like there's this implicit desire in the movement to erase the identities of individual African countries under the broad term of "African," if that makes sense. In addition, I feel like members of the movement severely overestimate how much Africans would be willing to work together in unity. It's already been mentioned in this thread but Somalia is already at odds with countries like Ethiopia, and I don't see either country putting aside their differences any time soon for the sake of pan-Africanism. I would love to see Africa as a whole to better itself in the coming years but at this point in time that's probably not going to be accomplished through teamwork.

Are you speaking from a UK perspective, because over here in America a lot of whites just view those people as all being Middle Eastern/Muslim/brown, they don't differentiate by country or region.

I want Africans to do better than whites. But I want Somalia to have unraveled power/economy/influence etc.
after Somalis yes Africans are the next group I want to see succeed.
