I was reading about the Jordanian Royal Family and I found out that their current King is half cadaan. It says his non-arab mother changed her whole name from Toni Avril Gardiner to Muna Al-Hussein.
how can one islamically change their whole name and take up another identity? I know converts change first names but they aren’t allowed to take up a whole other identity. This woman may or may not have converted but that’s irrelevant.
Also, can one be considered apart of a family that they weren’t born into? She divorced the guy in 1972 too. Her family would still be Gardiners not Hashemite. It doesn’t say this for Queen Rania who is Palestinian.
