I can't count how many times I've seen ajnabis call Somalis pirates unprovoked. When they get called out for it they say it's because they hear somalis referring to themselves as pirates so they thought they could say it as well



Same thing with calling yourself a and making big forehead jokes.

The ironically thing is my pirate lineage is through my Berber side and despite my dad being a conservative/ anti criminal type, pirates weren’t demonized. My Berber grandma insists that piracy was for God/Allah
