We are Muslims right? In western societies, democracy separates the church from the state but they do so for financial reasons only. The system itself has many flaws and can be the reason why we haven’t progressed. Here’s just a few things holding us back. Corruption, voter Ignorance, potential incompatibility with former politics, lack of political education, manipulation or control of public opinion and of course manipulation of the opposition. Democracy has done more evil than good, in reality our leaders in, “democracy” have misused the system while the unlettered civilian cannot decide on an honest man leading to many disadvantages from within.

Good idea, Somali nationalism/Somalinimo failed maybe deen would be a better uniting factor.
also Somalia isn’t a democracy no where near one. We don’t even have 1m1v. When 1m1v is implemented then Leaders can’t make false promises and will receive criticism and backlash from opposition and public. So they will be pressured to keep there promises, it being maybe improving the school curriculum, rebuilding the military, improving infrastructure, etc.
Of course and I agree. Our religion is key to fixing our problems, and the more we turn away from it the longer this curse continues. According to Islam, all men are equal, whatever be their color, language, race or nationality. Islam addresses itself to the conscience of humanity and banishes all false barriers of race, status, and wealth. I believe it can save the country and perhaps even unify the nation.

the little pride I had for this country left years ago, but i still hope people realize that the only way to go is forward not backwards. Inshallah brother.
