Can Roble and Deni work together?

If both of them are presidential candidates they should give their votes to the other that goes further in the election in order to prevent Farmajo reelection.

Maybe Deni should not run but instead support Roble to be national president if Roble in return:
- names an MJ as prime minister
- gives every state president veto power over every federal government policy in domestic and foreign spheres
- supports a decentralised, collegial form of federalism

Giving every state veto power will just ruin the country.

Something as simple as an ambassador pick will get vetoed by a random state. Some states can just sabotage the FGS by vetoing everything, essentially grinding the government to a halt.

You also forget that politics is a calculated game. If Galmudug vetoes something that benefits JL then JL will veto something that benefits Galmudug.

Veto powers only work if you have a constitutional monarchy or you are running an intergovernmental organisation like the UN Security Council. Not a nation-state.

First round anybody can run. Deals are made after the first round

Yes true but I would not like to see bad blood between Roble and Deni during the first two rounds meaning one would rather let Farmajo come back than support the other. Also imagine Deni getting harassed by his HAG opponents

Deni should do a deal with Roble. The deal would be Deni can become PM or he can pick who he wants the PM to be. Of course only Mj selected by Deni will become PM.

Power would be shared. Punites would get money and power. Likewise my people too would get money and power. I think that our interest are aligned. United we can really shape this country in how we want it to be.

We can both be winners and friends. My interests do not collide with that of Puntland. All I want is to start a massive anti-Shabab campaign.

@En_Sabah Nur two further reasons why Deni shouldn't bother running in this election

1. He currently rules territory which is much larger than Banadir and the FGS only has full control over just Banadir, one single region
2. Linked to the first point will Deni still control PL as federal president like he currently does or will he give up power over his state in exchange for a single region that is much smaller territorially and isn't his clan stronghold

Most of these guys are self interested and will not give up a chance to be at the top. There is no bad blood, just politics. Why would Deni give up all of the leverage he has? If Rooble runs and has a lot of mp’s supporting him, that’s when deals can be made. It’s all too premature right now.

Only thing that Deni should give Rooble is a bowl of macaroni

This is a stand-off between Deni and Farmaajo, the rest are mere spectators. Rooble doesn’t even have Qoorqoors support

Waryaa if were looking at it in the filthy 4.5 manner, it wouldn't be fair if it's Darood vs Darood. What on Earth happened to Hawiye that you turned them into a spectator. Lets say Deni wins, and then another Darood wins after him, I'm sure another civil war will happen. I think us Darood including Marehan should leave the villa if Hawiye are burning with cuqdad. After all they burned their whole city for 30 years just to not have another Darood back just to get him back again and again.

Hawiyes are in Xamar saying "aar Deni ii geeya"

The only people who support Farmajoo are reer Gedo, reer Lascanood, Reer Goldgogob and cad cad and Fahad Yassin people. All these people are langaab.

And Deni controls reer Lascanood and Reer Goldgogob seats and Fahad Yassien doesn't even have a seat. Ahmed Madoobe controls Gedo seats.

Can we honestly expect to see in a Hawiye city two Darod men in the final round of the presidential election? I don't think so

2 Hawiyes was in power, consecutive after each other.

Two Abgaals in fact but honestly look at how life for a Darod as president in Xamar always gets more difficult compared to a HAG? Also FGS doesn't control the 2 Darod states (except Gedo) so there's another reason why HAG as president makes much more sense

Daarood doesn't exist and it will be finalised after 4.5 is demolished. Please call us "Puntites" and Kacaanists by what they want to be called. Puntites and Kacaanists are on the total opposite ends of the political spectrum so I don't think it's acceptable to be lumped in with them. I won't even go into the ancestral reasons.
