Abdirashid Janan was the security minister of southern Jubaland. Essentially a key person in Madobes goal to secure Jubaland under Kismaayo. He was also supported indirectly by Kenya who let him stay in NFD with his troops.

He recently attacked Beled Xawo, capital of Gedo, from Kenya to claim Gedo for Madobe. This lead to the death of civilians caught in the crossfire.
