Why does he think Isaaq would not leverage their political control into economic power in the same way they have done in Awdal? How many Gadabursi big businesses are there? Not many at all. Are they allowed to have monopolies in Borama like Isaaq have in Hargeisa? No
With political control comes economic control. As Somaliland’s hold tightens, most locally owned businesses will be pushed out in favor of Isaaq businesses that have favorable tax arrangements.

The contract for the khat from Nairobi was given to another Dhulbahante guy. Jabuutaawi and others blockaded the airport that he (Jabuutaawi) setup. The other guy who recently given the share then chose another destination. That is the information that was given to me two days ago.

Laascaanood is doing fine. There are no issues there. It is developing fine. There is so much fake news online.
This is not true. The biggest businesses in LA are no different than other Somalis in Somalia/Somaliland. With the exception of Telesom and Dahabshiil, the rest of businesses are local. Even the shareholders of Telesom in LA are locals.
Even Jabuutaawi himself (the guy in the video) is building this $8 million USD hotel.
That's true only telecommunication and banking is all over Somalia. All other businesses are local.
This water plant was also recently completed, and its owners are locals. It was initially funded by a Turkish firm.

Khaatumo was created in 2012, then Daarood and Hawiye presidents - except Sheekh Shariif - and pms refused to support it. So since the countries in the region (Ethiopia, Kenya) & the Somali government refused to support it, its effectiveness on the ground has faced limitations. There is also no seaport that can generate much-needed tax revenue that can be used to fund government functions. But in cities like Buuhoodle, Khaatumo exists there.
With respect to Somaliland, it is a functioning de-facto state. Its progress in SSC has been ongoing for 31 years. And the people back home care about their own interest. So from efficiency prospective, Somaliland employs thousands of people in SSC, mostly in the security sector. And when an administration provides essential govt functions, the people would accept it.
It's best for SSC to be part of Somaliland. It's painful that Somalia is falling apart
