Brutal amongst yourselves yet submissive against foreigners

Came across this video on my feed and at first glance good for him and his child but deep down I started thinking how does a Chinese man just come to a Tribalistic Society like Somalia marry a woman and have 8 children yet they murder and barbarically and inhumanely butcher one another in tribal affiliations but this Chinese man can just settle, why are Somalis brutal towards each other yet submissive towards foreigners, what happened to the pride they were infamous for?

Nonetheless good for him and no shade but something I was dawned on.

Lack of education, coupled with decades of instability and or no real accountable governing body. Leads to indoctrination of the masses e.g. tribalism, ignorance, resentment / hatred towards their ilk. If education was vastly obtainable and said authorities were responsible in their decision making, I truly believe the masses would rise up and take the initiative to reform their country e.g. an informed resistance if you will. This also applies to most African countries as well.

Its because we have lived amongst each other for over 5000 years. When 2 somali from 2 different clans argue whether in real life or online, they recognise that they are from the same stock. They may hate each other externally but ultimately they both realise that they genuinely have love for each other deep down due to the same cultures and values. Fighting and competition is their way of showing respect to other clans as they are deemed “worthy” (if you get what I mean). Majority of the times its over resources such as grazing land or water.

When they pander to those foreigners, externally they may love them, but deep down they dont have love for them. majority of the times its out of curiosity and because its something not common to see anywhere back home. As the world opens up, mixed marriages are steadily rising and with us having an insular culture, things like this which was once a taboo becomes something to be fascinated about. Thats why it gains traction.

This man also comes from a developed 1st world superpower and pandering to him may help them get opportunities that they never had and also help deepen and strengthen international relationships between Somalis and other communities.

At the end of the day these foreigners even arent exempt from our own words as we call them “jreer, indhoyar, hindi, gaal”

we are a proud people that puts our ethnicity first when it comes to foreigners but put our qabiil first when it comes to other Somalis and even subclan first when it comes to people of the same qabiil.

With all due respect what does that have to do with what we’re talking about?

Does that make the barbaric nature Somalis have between one another more valid if the group that is being pandered to are ethnic groups known to be Muslim?

I agree but it’s still pathetic nonetheless, Somalis of the past were known for their pride regardless of how many shisheeyes they came into contact with their language and their customs and themselves were only exclusive but these new generation completely defecate all of the respectable qualities the old possessed.

Social media is a completely different landscape to real life. Even If I saw that on my timeline I’d comment saying “mashallah tabarakallah”. In rl no one would bat an eye at them

My point was, that is probably why he is staying with his wife and children. Islam creates brotherhood.

Also your point is partially true. Somalis only have animosity among themselves due to cultural confusion. We mixed up western governance system which is incompatible with our original culture of Xeer and Islam.
