Not only did they destroy our country but they allowed Ethiopia under Meles Zenawi to introduce qabil based federalism to keep us divided based on qabil. Today we are still suffering from the poisonous qabil based federalism as they continue to hold our future hostage by using government resources to enrich themselves and their family and settle their inter-clan feud. We desperately need a Youth Revolution to overthrow these moryan in suits, and replace them with young leaders who only care about Somalinimo and then ban qabyalad in all government and civil institutions.

Federalism is good and if you deny it you dont know what youre talking about, those so called boomers you talk about took up arms and defended mogadishu in 2006, but I could agree that right now its boomers in suits that are fucking the country up, especially in the south, but its more way complicated than just saying theyre bad leadership

Theres nothing wrong with federalism but OP is talking about the dysfunctional “federalism” that we have right now which was implemented by foreign powers to keep us divided. If it was normal federalism i would have no problem.
I dont think he/she is talking about the icu mujaahids but rather the tuugos that are running our government. Most of them had nothing to do with the icu
Not federalism in general but federalism based on the very poisonous qabyalad that we have been dealing with even during the Siad Barre rule. You cannot put out a fire with gasoline, it will just continue the cycle until there is nothing left and that's what I believe the type of government system we have today. Just more gasoline that we think is supposed to put out the decades long fire.
Im talking about the boomers who brought down the government in 1991 with no contingency plan, destroyed our institutions, and sold our factories for pennies on the dollar. They literally turned the country from one of the best in Africa to a complete failed state that required rebuilding from scratch. They are the lowest of IQs amongst us and left us in decades of humiliation and suffering and complete dependence in foreign aid. They fulfilled Ethiopia's longest dream of destroying Somalia and never to recover. The final nail in our coffin was introducing a federal system that divided regions based on clans and gave power to clan leaders who refuse to unite for the greater good and today they are settling their inter-clan difference by using destructive power that also kills innocent Somali civilians. Utter shame and low IQ behavior in front of the world.

This wasnt done during the 90s, this was done by the UK, US and Ethiopia in 2006, somalis are not to blame for this except maybe Abdullahi Yusuf and his Mj bros, but they were sabotaging somalis since decades so its a specific case
Do you realize without the 2006 invasions Somalis would be decades ahead with no foreign influence, african union troops or al shabaab, no piracy either and we would have an islamic government, its also likely that in the following years ICU would have managed to unite the whole country like they did in the south

But federalism where each qabil have their state is very good and I dont see a problem with that, Awdal Dir state, Isaaq state, Warsangeli and dhulo state, Mj Bari and nugaal state, Galmudug etc etc
I would be happy with this and a true federal system where all qabil are equal and respected, basically ending qabyaalad. Whatever we have now is not it and will continue to keep us fighting each other.

Algeria and Morocco are specific cases with their own complex long lasting problems, especially Algeria, the countries are at a point where the government is so bad but still competent enough that most people stay and just a small part of the population leaves for europe every year
We shouldnt compare to these countries, we could very easily diversify the economy with fishery and other sectors, since Somalia is in the EAC there's a huge trade potential with these african countries inland, and many of these countries have a huge demand in many things but no supply, theres also demand at home and a potential for a big domestic private sector, we are blessed in every way except in politics
Honestly theres nothing somalis can compare to, its a very weird situation where somalis prospered more in the absence of a government
