Book Recommendations? And/or Somali Media.

What books would you guys recommend I read? For the past year, I read a few books authored by Noam Chomsky, John Perkins, John Hughes-Wilson, and others. I also read political fiction books as well. I would also like to know what Somali books I should read (could be from pre or post-Civil War).

And I don't mind other types of Somali media.

One which I used to always read and genuinely helped my self control was a book called “Don’t sweat the small stuff”

I do enjoy a good book on Islam. There are usually open-book events at my local masjid. We meet a few authors (usually from ex-NOI members turned Sunni). In the last couple of months, I tried getting into Somali-authored books. Found a couple on archive.org website today:

Books I've enjoyed this year:
  • Thinking, Fast & Slow by Daniel Kahneman (Cognitive Psychology)
  • Bad Blood by John Carreyrou (Investigative Journalism)
  • When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanthi (Memoir)
  • The Mother Wound by Amani Haydar (Memoir)
  • The Tyranny of Merit by Michael J Sandel (Political Philosophy)
  • Crime & Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky (Classic Russian Literature)
I hope you like them.
