People are upset with Bill Maher for dismissing kevin harts comments on white power and privilege. Kevin said white power and privilege is at all time high. The statement alone is beyond stupid. But Bill has been at war with progressives for the longest now. He hates them lol

To be fair Maher is Jewish and obviously an ardent Zionist so that’s not entirely surprising. I view him the same way I view Ben Shapiro

Shapiro is a practicing Jew, I can understand him. Maher is a hardcore atheist who view religion illogical but at the same time supports people who move from around the world to steal land in Palestine because god told them it’s their land. He can support that, but needs to stfu about religion.

I’m not trying to sound condescending but you can be a Zionist and not be religiously Jewish. Zionism is a political ideology rather than a religious one. It’s just masked as a religious ideology to justify the occupation of Palestinian land

I know that sxb, I’m just pointing out his hypocrisy. He calls other folks religious beliefs primitive and illogical but at the same time is ok with people who say god gave them a piece of land thousand of years ago.

They do go after religion though, they reserve all the smoke for the majority religion but actively protect minority ones (which isn't the same as not going after them). Even though the beliefs of the minority religions they are protecting diametrically oppose their liberal views and wouldn't tolerate them in return if they were in the minority. You either have principles or you don't. It's just funny how they butt heads with atheists who reserve the smoke for ALL religions. Progressives have fucked up on this one. IMO, because they chose to make this calculated choice so they should accept reactionary atheists (like Maher) leaning to the right.

And its not like they winning their battles rn is it? Corbyn in UK and Bernie in USA both reality checked by their own parties. And I'm telling you, when it comes to neolibs vs progressives and ignore conservatives for a second, these new-age atheists (Maher, Sam harris, Maajid Nawaz, Hitchens, Ayaana Hirsi) have done more to detract from progressives than a 'Ben shapiro' type figure ever has. And it's fair. It was their calculated and unprincipled choice.
