Neither will win a World Cup but at least if these guys sign up for Somalia, AFCON honours is possible.

U still get paid from national team sponsors plus it is easier to play for a European country playing at the highest level rather than carry a team of bums which is hard when your a 5’8 midfielder

The problem is if these young players are actually good, they'll probably play for the nation they grew up in. Sad but true.

Qualifying for the WC from African qualifiers is notoriously difficult. Egypt, the most successful AFCON nation, have only qualified thrice for the WC. It will become easier when WC expands to 48 teams tho.

Inshallah it will happen, but I am not holding my breath.
