Everyone lost. None of these groups are in a better situation than they were pre war. Some picked themselves up pretty well after the Ls but they would not have rebelled had they known this would be the state of the country 30 years later. All hell bound terrorists in my book

Without a shadow of a doubt, MJ is the true winner of '91. It's a fact that in '91, Bari, Nugaal, and North Mudug were rural backwaters and incredibly underdeveloped. Fast forward 27 years........and those same regions are the most developed. There's also the thing of MJ getting Presidency of Somalia in Nairobi, and ending that presidency in Xamar, establishing the first internationally recognised Somali government since '91.

Alhamdulillah for the events of '91. Alhamdulillah for Aideed and his clan for kicking off, and expelling MJs from Xamar. Because, of that had not happened, MJ would've not returned to his ancestral lands, and made it great. Its was a necessary evil, and a short pain.
