I was walking to my local shop and a lady was sitting at the fromt of it, she was white and fat and had a box with noodles in it. She asked me for 10 pounds and I said sorry i only have a credit card!
I read somehwere that we should not give money to beggars islamically.
What would you do in this case?

It's even worse in Somalia. I always see j@raar refugees from the south begging for money but they're not poor at all. They do it at the airports or they knock on your door asking for money and claiming their kids died on the journey to xamar.

Nabi scw said "If someone refrains from begging, Allah will spare him from needing to ask, if someone wants to be independent allah will make him so". The only person we should beg is Allah and if a muslim is truly in need then they should seek zakah. That being said, if I see a muslim begger and I have cash or food I try to help them, but it's better if we put systems in place to stop people from having to beg in the first place (zakah, taking care of widows, etc.)
