Beauty is Valued, even by Angels

In our Quran and Hadith, there is countless of tales about Angels coming to earth to deliver a message. They always take the form of the most handsome person in that city they are descending upon. So i am guessing--- WHY coudn't the Angels just pick anybody regardless of their looks? Why does it have to be the most Handsome man? Why?


Then it dawned on me that--Beauty is an honor. Just like Power is an Honor. Height is an Honor. Body is strength is an Honor. Mind Brains is a Power. Beauty is just a facet of the Honors God has bestowed on us. For the Angels to pick the Handsomest person to his his form, it is actually a honor for the Angel. And how lucky is that person whose form has been chosen by an Angel to use for his Holly message?

Worldly matters including wealth, beauty and influence have no value in the grand scheme of things. If they had any value Allah would not give any of it to those who disbelieve in him.

"Were it not that all people would become of a single creed (i.e. disbelief), We would have caused, for those who disbelieve in RaHmān, roofs of their houses to be made of silver, and the stairs as well, on which they would climb,
and doors of their homes, and the coaches on which they would recline,
and (would have made some of these things) of gold-ornaments. And all this is nothing but an enjoyment of the worldly life. And the Hereafter, with your Lord, is (destined) for the God-fearing."

We shouldn't value people based on these fleeting things but rather on their character and deen.

Of all qualities bestowed on humanity. Beauty I find to be the most fascinating for in it exists a rawness of impact so disarming that leaves the receiver or recipient at their most vulnerable. How many a times has one been left spellbound or bewitched in the presence of uncontested Beauty. It can make a fully grown man go all giddy and a well bred lady buckle. If I was given a power immense and bereft of much effort as beauty surely is then my ecstasy would a constant companion surely be.

Of course your point is valid. Taqua on Allaah swt is the Prize aim. No doubt. But this topic is about the value of Beauty in its own right. I mean, if Beauty had no value, The Angels would not have to insist on taking the form of the most handsomest person in their town. This was my point. To raise a topic about how Beauty--is valued, and how we cherish here on earth.

Absolutely. Beauty is something bewitching. I say we should be awe to the creator who created it in the first place. The fact that we human beings can notice it, shows we are the Khalifa of this earth. Animals cannot appreciate beauty.

I've seen people obsess over beauty to the point they become vain, jealous and depressed. But yeah, I guess I'm just thinking about the implications of valuing beauty above all else.

Here we are not talking about the value of beauty but it's recognition. It's value since time immemorial has never been in question. It's impact is half the story of the world.
