Nobody should take him as example. But he doesn't hint at an important part of corruption.

One of the biggest reasons southeast asia developed and Africa didn't. Isn't that southeast asian elites and politicians aren't corrupt (they're just as corrupt and even stole more money.) But their money ultimately doesn't leave the country and is invested in assets in thr country. Whereas in most of subsharan africa this money is taken overseas where people use it to buy houses and cars and other stuff. Corrupt somalj politicians are more closer to the southeast asian model. A lot of the money stolen is used to build stuff in the country and even the stuff taken abroad is usually put into buisenss in kenya and turkey.
