Whole of Xamar hates HSM. He didn’t do nothing for the people so I doubt people will die for him just so he could stay in power to enrich himself. If the government forces (Military, Nisa etc) were loyal to HSM they would have stopped the mucaarad yesterday from holding a meeting at the mawlac. They can’t because HSM is heavily outnumbered militarily. There is also strong support from the IC who want to remove HSM altogether. HSM is lucky to make it to 15th May 2026 if anything.

The problem is HSM doesn’t respect dialogue. Just today he arrests several journalists. IC don’t care who is sitting in villa Somalia. They want HSM gone. Kheyre follows protocol. He would not have come to Xamar this early and link up with Shareef if he didn’t get the green light from Xalane to do so. Expect a parallel government to be build 30th June going forward

I don’t think a parallel government can or will be built. Think about it, he still has a year left. They are all candidates, the same thing will be done to them tomorrow. This is just about keeping Somalia from falling to shabaab and holding agreed upon elections on time. A parallel government may only be an option if he keeps escalating especially beyond his term ie extension. Other than that I don’t see IC or anyone else pushing him out before his term. It delegitimizes the whole office and would likely escalate to every president being overthrown a few years or less into their term. Stability requires this door not be opened in anarchic Somalia. What may happen though is that he is allowed to stay in office but quietly stripped of power which the PM would receive and likely should already have given Somalia’s parliamentary system which presidents have historically usurped.
