Why would Australia do that?
Who cares.
It's nothing but political left-right bullshit and posturing to their electorate. Israel obviously has to say something, but i doubt they really care about this. In a few yrs time the right wing australian gov will come into power and recognise jerusalem as jerusalem and the cycle will keep repeating over and over.... or they wont, but no significant policy change will happen anyway so why does it even matter? The new Australian government promised to rectify the mistake of the last one.
They also have recognising a Palestinian state in their foreign policy agenda.

Sxb this game will continue to go on ad infinitum while Israel maintains military superiority in addition arab meekness and disregard for palestinian issue continues. You are truly delusional if you think that Palestinians will ever get the state that they are requesting because of US/Western help.I think we’re close to seeing the end game of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I don’t see it going past 2040 max.

No one forced South africa to open up their country, and no-one could have done it either, and the same applies to Israel,Israel overplayed their hand a few years ago, I’ve been through this in detail before.
You will see in a few years that Israel will forced to negotiate with Palestine. They will most likely have a secular shared state.
You’re witnessing South Africa pt2 in motion.

Israel is also far more influential over the US (Israeli lobby + massive support) and any criticism off it brings about charges of antisemiticm. It's incomparable to South africa in this sense. For SA Internal Political and economical conditions more or less pushed their hand. Another key difference is that Israel is still seen as oasis of peace and democracy in a region plagued with war.
There was civil resistance against the apartheid regime but there was no way it was ever facing what even came close to a violent end to their regime. I dont know where your going with this but nothing like "North korea" sanctions and isolation is ever going to happen to israel. Give up on this fantasy.South Africa was facing the barrel of a very violent end to their regime that would have put them on North Korea level of pariah.
They instead decided to leave peacefully.
The US and others made it clear they did not enjoy their support.
In the 1970s, South Africa modelled itself as the oasis in a sea of communism. Remind you of anyone?

Claiming that they prevented one of the worst conflicts in Africa sounds like a massive reach, but even if it's true to say it would have about brought about the end of s.african regime is flat out ridiculous. The ANC was military trained by foreign powers for decades and fought against South Africa in several conflicts outside its borders.
Nelson Mandela himself admitted to planning for “all out war” in his biography and believed it was inevitable.
It is universally accepted by scholars that De Klerk and Mandela prevented one of the worst conflicts to ever hit Africa.
Why do you think Mandela is seen as a symbol of adoration by whites and blacks in Sth Africa?
