You will have the option of hotel quarantine or home quarantine with this app that checks if you are quarantining.
The federal government has not decided whether they will adopt this and probably will not because the hotel quarantine system is infinitely safer than home quarantine regardless of the safeguards put in place.

This isn’t the UK, Australia is a federal system.
This state implemented this idea because they wanted to transition to home quarantine instead of hotel quarantine. FOR RETURNING TRAVELERS!
The federal government will never mandate this nation-wide but some states may choose this path.
Regardless, one has the choice to choose between hotel quarantine without this app or home quarantine with this app.
