Australia could reach the equivalent of 100 per cent renewables for its electricity needs by the early 2030s by doing nothing more than maintaining the current pace of wind and solar development, a new research report has found.

The report – published by a heavy-hitting team of Australian National University researchers, including solar PV and pumped hydro expert Andrew Blakers – says keeping up the current rate of renewable energy deployment would also meet Australia’s entire emissions reduction task “for the whole economy” by 2025.

In the current political climate, I don’t think it’s possible.

Australian politicians are still debating whether climate change is even real, they’ve reduced subsidies and seemingly suck the cocks of the mining executives with very little regard for renewables.

Something needs to be done against all the mining conglomerates/coal mining companies/big oil and all their respective lobbyists.

What a disgrace to Australia for succumbing to the ecoterrorists funded by the shameless Rockefeller Foundation. How come these people don't target socialist Venezuela, sharia law loving Saudi Arabia and email scammy Nigeria for their many barrels of oil and their carbon footprint? They only target the boy scouts of the world and I had no clue Australia was one of them. I always saw them as standing up to foreign bullies.

I don’t know if this article was written for April fools day, or if it was intended for satire because Australia won’t reach a target of 25% by that date. There are too many climate change sceptics in the ruling coalition parties and that was one of the major reasons why our elected prime minister was ousted of the office by his colleagues few weeks ago.
