For those who have resided in Egypt or pursued Islamic studies there, could you kindly share your insights regarding the Somali community in Egypt? How would you describe the living conditions and overall experiences for our compatriots residing there?

Never left the states except once. During that once, I had a transit plane in Egypt. Would you like to know my 1 hour experience in Egypt? :dabcasar:

dame all that happened in 1 hour.
We got off the plane, was guided to an area for prayer. I stepped outside the prayer room, and immediately this Egyptian lady in the airport uniform approached me. She asked what I was looking for and I responded with "xamam". I thought to myself that she was so kind and attentive. She took me there, then all of a sudden stuck her hand out. I looked at her in confusion when my aunt told me she's asking for a tip. I thought to myself: Pay her for what?!:mindblown: She was wearing the uniform of the employees there, don't employees guide you to where you want to go?! Plus all we did was go out the prayer room and turn a corner :ummhmm: I would have found the bathroom myself if she left me alone a little bit. :damn:

waka xishooday and didn't voice out any of my thoughts. Said jazakallah with a smile, and paid her the 50 bucks in my pocket that was for food :jcoleno: boarded the plan starving. Felt absolutely scammed :wow:Never let another employee guide me again:mjhaps:
