When I was trying to fit in with western culture, I was very overweight and depressed. After embracing my roots, I stopped feeling sorry for myself, took responsibility for actions and hanging with toxic people. Landed my dream job. The cool consequences about my new job are that 1. My start date was July 1st and 2. The uniform colors are white and blue. Also, found my soulmate who’s extremely attracted to my superiority complex and xalimo quirkiness.
As crazy as this sounds, embracing my Somali/Tuareg heritage was improved my life greatly
