Arrogance is the downfall of Somali People. Prove me wrong?

We lack islamic principles because our community hasn’t learned the true fiqh and cilm in Islam. We went on full speed and put on jilbabs and named our kids abdi this and that and believed that’s all it takes to be Muslim. Our community functions without proper islamic knowledge on how to live our lives in a halal manner and yet we believe that we are in the right and are knowledgeable. It’s another case of Somali arrogance. Every flaw in our community, from the state of our country/war, to the racist trolls tarnishing our name, to the qabilism, to the lack of working and believing it’s for “langaabs”, to the state of somali families all goes back to arrogance. Arrogance is the downfall of the somali people. It goes unchecked in our community and rather praised.

Our community is embarrassing and broken. We need a restart.

There are many quotes on arrogance (kibr) in the quran. Here is one

“Do not strut arrogantly about the Earth. You will certainly never split the earth apart nor will you ever rival the mountains in height.” [Surah Al-Isra’: 37]


Many somali people will read this and think it’s only about gaalo or wealthy/powerful muslims who think they are above muslims/poor but this applies to our community too

We, as a community, do lack many necessary islamic principles. If you were not raised among somalis or can’t see the state of our community in a critical lense, then I understand why you would think that.

and the funny thing is all our glaring flaws we have their positive inverse in abundance

There are 3 types of arrogance. Individual, antagonistic and competitive. Somalis fit the last 2.

One of the ways in which Allah deals with His chosen slaves is to experiment them according to the degree of their belief, to reveal who is truthful and who is not.

Those who are most severely experimented are the Prophets, then the next best and the next best, as it says in the saheeh hadeeth of the Prophet (pbuh).

If you study the seerah of the Messenger of Allaah (pbuh), you will see that he went through harsh tests; he was even accused of being a liar, a sorcerer and a madman; garbage and filth were thrown on his back; he was expelled from Makkah; his feet bled in al-Taa’if. This was the situation of all the Prophets who were rejected before him.

Sheikh Umal Hafidahulah suffered the same fate as other scholars and daa'iyahs, fake accusations were made against him; he was said to be Alshabab, insulted the prophet... but Alhamdulilaah the sheikh is innocent of all those allegations made against him. He is the biggest critic of AS if you watched his videos.
