ARE Somalis religious in public and Gaal-like in private ? Do we commit more dambi then a gaal. I think so.

The Somali people are all about trotting the line in public when it comes to religion.

in private, majority of them are full of gossip, deception ( daughter gets pregnant, they quickly marry her off disregarding the deen), stealing benefits they don’t qualify for, all the children were under the category of “my boyfriend “, the other’s qabiil hatred even not personally knowing that person, mistreating their children by accumulating ayuuto ( kids going without new clothes), etc.

There are only a few people who were religious in private and in public (like my family for instance).

Oh yeah, this falls under the great deception, lies and more lies. Our people don’t even think of it as a great sin.

Saying 'all' and 'gaal' is a bit extreme. Yes, there are elements of hypocrisy in our community as we love to hide everything under the carpet and there doesn't seem to be any accountability, especially when it comes to our men. We've used our qabil system, which definitely has benefits, in a negative way as well. But, this isn't a Somali issue. It is simply human nature and this effects every group by the way.

Yes. Very much so. Majority don't even understand the religion, they just memories words they don't understand and think that's all it takes. That's why raping, stealing, killing, deceiving, doing drugs, drinking alcohol, cheating etc is so normal. They do all of that and go pray it off.

amazing grace !

for instance, please watch this train wreck here.

This woman here is a nutshell of how many of our people are. She peppers her speech with deen sayings. It’s something the Somali has adopted in his/her lingo. It’s the subconscious just saying it.

This women you’re looking at had all her children taken away by the Austrian state. She posts 2 to 3 videos a day talking about ignorant stuff. Insulting the people that gave her shelter. At one point saying “I have my Somali passport, my beautiful passport, I don’t t need anything from them”. :kanyehmm: :ohhh:

Almost by definition, believers can't sin more than unbelievers.

:kanyehmm: At this stage in Islam , gaalos apply what our Deen has guided us to do.

Show me a Muslim nation taking in refugees. Muslim nation giving welfare. A Muslim nation with natural human freedoms that aren’t led by a dictator.

YAMS

I like milk and potato.
I was just ranting about this the other day. Not this woman, but the fact that we pepper our conversations with religious lingo while encouraging un-Islamic things. Qabyaalad, haterism etc.

My conclusion is that more than a few of our folk are haters who use religion to establish a sense of superiority when someone else achieves something. And they lack self awareness.

The deen has definitely been weaponised and usually people do this to establish some sort of superiority. I see it on this forum and obviously real life. You have ones here preaching against Westernization, whilst exposing their unislamic lifestyles.

@Grigori Rasputin there is a Saxiix Hadith that states those who sin openly will never enter Janaah. Prophet pbuh said those i cannot even intercede on their behalf

So.......

If somalis sin in private and NOT PUBLIC they still have HOPE
