Are men allowed to show emotion in society?

Crying when you are in actual physical pain is fine. For example, you are in a car crash or you got shot. Crying after a triumphant experience is also fine. For example, win a championship at some sport, Get a big job promotion, winning a battle, etc.

Never cry for anything that makes you look overly needy. Crying because your girlfriend broke up with you makes you look like a b*tch and weak.

Never show weakness to your enemies or people, in general, they will use it against you!

You, as a Somali... you aren't even allowed to show emotions in private, let alone in public.

Many Somalis neglect mental health issues and deem it as weak and denoting to the status of the patriarchal male. Show emotions, even the slightest bit, and you would be treated as some dude with incredibly low-T levels. It's one of the main reasons why Somalia and the general state of Somalis hasn't been seeing success subsequent to the nasty & harsh civil war. Bear in mind, this type of mentality comes with being bitter, impoverished Nomads in one of the most destitute corners of the world. Showing emotions signifies weakness back in the day, since Somalis (especially men) were the main breadwinners and food/supplies provider in their families. Any sign of emotional vulnerability would lose you your accountability as a father, and your status, which was quite literally what Geeljires used to die for back in the day.

The only emotions that are tolerated are anger. But even then, you would labeled as emotionally unintelligent and incredibly immature if you throw tantrums and hissy fits very often. Complete stoicism is what most men deem as preferable. :manny:

You're not supposed to vent to your girlfriend/wife and weight her down with your emotional bullshit anyway sxb. Share your struggles by all means, but keep it brief. You're meant to be a source of stability and strength for her.

Most of them will say they want "openness and vulnerability" blah blah, but only to a certain point.
Vent to your bros, they'll give you constructive feedback and actual solutions instead of comfort.
It depends. Some men are super needy and emotional, and that can be a nuisance. But showing vulnerability is good and brings the couple together. I think both men and women should have healthy ways of expressing their feelings.

tbh i think its better for me not to express my sad emotions, i dont wanna come off as a b-tch 🤷‍♂️
this is why niggas cry in the car lmao

I have never seen in my life people as emotional as the s.

Somali men are definitely emotional, even more than the average males :russ:

She can just be an adult and learn to be stable without anyone to be her pillar.

I'm against any paternalistic behavior.
f*ck this shit, I don't even care about what she thinks if she believes that man has to shut down his emotions for her own pleasures.
Sounds like another western selfish belief.
I don't buy it.
In an ideal world maybe, but that just isn't the case sxb. Being a little too emotional/vulnerable will make the avg girl dried than the Sahara, they find that shit repugnant. Same way the avg guy will automatically wince and be put off by a girl having a high body count.

That's why I said to a certain point. There's a very very very fine line between "aww, we're so open with each other" and "ffs, that fåggot's crying about something again" lol

A guy speaking for women, typical :drakekidding:
Don't speak for the average woman. Most of them don't care if you bottle up your emotions for some pussy.

:heh:

If she can't understand the need for emotions and a healthy relationship, she can still wait for her prince on Tinder.
Emotionally immature people don't interest me.

I'm not speaking for them per say, it's just what I've observed/dealt with. It could just be that I've encountered nothing but emotionally immature women but I'm not the only guy who's made these same observations. Good luck with your hunt for the 1 in 10,000 unicorn abti :lolbron:

When Somali women start to cry I think we’ll make a decision on if it’s appropriate for a Somali guy to cry.

emotions are of a wide range of varieties , laughing is emotion, crying is, hatred is. loving is. so emotions in
general are natural human expressions, the good and bad about them is how you express or display them.
aggressively is always to be frowned on whether male or female, but softly and aptly their is nothing feminine
or manly about them
