1)In 2005, shareef sheikh Hassan was opposed to the establishment of a new capital in jowhar, which was the preference of President abdulahi yusuf and Prime Minister ali geedi demanding the capital be returned to mogadishu.
Imo this was one of the most important political mess he prevented
2) getting his pal and the head of icu at that time sheikh shareef sheikh ahmed into legitimate political opposition during the dark days of abdulahi Yusuf and getting his sws constituents behind the eventual win of sheikh shareef in the following election

After months of political infighting between the Speaker of Parliament Sharif Hassan and President Sharif Ahmed over whether to hold presidential elections in August 2011, the two politicians struck a deal in Kampala ugunda on June 9, 2011 to postpone the vote for a new President and parliamentary Speaker for one year in exchange for the resignation of the Premier (farmajo)within a period of thirty days

On June 19, 2011, Mohamed Abdullahi farmajo resigned from his position as Prime Minister of Somalia shareef sheikh Aden ending farmajo short career till sheikh shareef resurrected his career again when he gave his votes to farmajo to win 2017 .
