Yeah, meditation is good for you. Spending some time grounding yourself and drowning out other thoughts till you reach a point where its silent and your focused inward.
I have intrusive thoughts so inshallah it helps, I was planning on trying some meditation but my house is loud lol.

Yes of course I get 8-9 hours everyday, I meant waking up 30 minutes earlier than I usually do.
That's good.

What’s Islamic mediation besides salat? Dhikr? @Abu Ash’ari @Omar del Sur ?

just closing your eyes and observig your thoughts (mindfulness meditation) is it halal?
From what I've read you can meditate, it is known in Arabic as (Murāqabah). It depends on the intentions and the forms in which you do it. Obviously practicing meditative ways extracted from other religions i.e. Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism is not permissble, I think. I am not too sure.
Here's some sources concerning that:

Strangely enough, an article from a gym concerning this issue:

I did mediation for awhile and fell for all these new things being pushed on to us like meditation and affirmations, law of attraction. A lot of it is basically demon worship and words have spells so be careful. alhamdulila I then realized you can achieve all the mindfulness by praying on time and with qushuu waking up for Fajr praying tahajuud. If you wake up an hour and half before Fajr and ask allah anything you fill find it granted. Don’t give power to anything but allah. Increase your dikr quran salat pray at the mosque. This is all you need. May allah guide us!
