Mate, just pray, get a cat, a gym membership and a PlayStation. This existential crisis of yours will pass. No need for alladat.

If not, then Dosvidanya :samwelcome:

planning a trip there soon
Have you lost your mind? I’ve been there. That country is a third world country masquerading as a developed country. Crime is rampant and they have a paranoid government that might imprison you indefinitely for no reason.

If you are a western citizen, they will literally hold you as part of future prisoner swaps with the US.

Russia is holding multiple Americans in prison for frivolous reasons in order to free spies arrested by the FBI. Putin alluded to this in his interview with Tucker. You might think you’re not worth arresting but Russians are crazy.

As for the people, they are like people in any other country. Most are hospitable and decent. Older White Russians and Chechens are pretty easy going. The people from the Stan countries, especially Kazakhstan are hardcore Russian wannabes. They speak Russian as their first language.

Bro is going to be that "Somali" soldier who was caught in Ukraine fighting for the Russians, except this time he's actually Somali!

Jk

But you are going to be looked at with much suspicion if you're coming from a western nation into Russia and vice versa.

This is the primary danger faced by any western citizen going to Russia. When Putin was asked if he could release Washington post reporter, he said it would be part of a broader prisoner swap.

In addition to that obvious danger, Russia is still closer to the developing and third worlds than it is to the first world. Law and order only applies to political activities. If someone murders you, it might not even be investigated, for example.
