Could go their some time for business and tourist reasons, but do Somalis exist over their? The real estate market is buyers market over their meaning more supply then theirs demand and it’s stable and it has good tourism so would be nice place to get into for rent2serviced accommodation

Only thing I know about it is Hurricane Katrina and a lot of people left.

Not really. In the south most somalis are in Texas and Atlanta.

I've been to New Orleans once and that was too watch a pelicans game back in 2016. Haven't been since. The city looks nice and I did eat so good food. Haven't really had an urge to travel back to the place tbh.

My dad had a cousin who lived in New Orleans, but he moved to Atlanta after hurricane Katrina. Aside from that relative, idk of any Somalis who lived in that city

Somalis are everywhere.

Check the Whitepages and type common Somali names. There should be some hits.

Was he there during hurricanes katrina? how was that for him?
I think he evacuated the city before the hurricane happened, and planned on going back once everything settled down. I guess he decided on staying in the ATL once he realized that things wouldn’t be going back to normal anytime soon. I’ve never spoken to him though, I just heard the story from my aabo

Never heard of a somali community in New Orleans. When??

In the 2000s. Some guys who used to live there are in my town. Some are in Arizona. Others are in Atlanta, GA. You would find Somalis everywhere in the US nowadays. On a positive note, the African diaspora is very big in New Orleans. Senegalese and Ethiopians have decent sized communities there.
