Why should others speak for us? We make up a large percentage of the British Muslim population yet you have South Asians, Turks and Arabs speaking for us and our unique experience as being both Black and Muslim?

It’s true. I went to mosque one time and it was full of Arabs. They told me to cut off my Afro and that it wasn’t good. Very rude of them.

Wallahi it's sad. Despite the fact that we Somalis make up a large Muslim population in Britain and being some of the earliest Muslims in the country, there is no representation. Many people on here think that because we have softer hair and slimmer nose we are somehow special and superior to other Black muslims, well clearly not special enough to be given fair representation.

Us Black Muslims experience the dual threat of our black skin and religious identity yet we have not been given a platform to share our experience. Why do we need so many South Asians, why do we need numerous White people on the panel yet they couldn't find space for one Black Muslim? Truly disgraceful.
