I knew a Turkish guy named Emre and he and his family loved Ataturk but they were also fasting during Ramadan and prayed. How do you explain that?
Not all people that vote for that party are Kemalists. The party is Kemalist and it’s diehard supporters are but not every single voter is.
You can admire Kemal without being a Kemalist. He built a nation from scratch and left a nation of greatness but he had numerous shortcomings.
Kemalists are the blind supporters of Kemal that cannot separate the good from bad and inherently agree with his major point that Islam is “uncivilised”.

Ataturk was a Muslim. There is much evidence for that. He just didn't believe it should be used for political means. Comments made by his family and foreign diplomats and his speeches are a few confirmations of his religious beliefs.

in his book he referred Islam as “The religion of the Arabians” and “Muhammad’s (peace upon him) religion” astagfirullah.

Even at one of his speeches he said this:

Was hè a Muslim? Idk he seems to be in a similar case as our ex-president who always was questioned by his religious beliefs.
In my opinion: he was majorly a practicing Muslim in his early life but everything changed in the 1920s which hinted that he may either didn’t do as much with the religion or just left Islam
