Wow, I never thought I'd like a candidate more than Bernie Sanders.
:salute:
His ideas on UBI (universal basic income) and automation are points that I've never really thought about before.
Hope he can win! The mainstream media is already ignoring him though like they did Bernie. I've only seen him mentioned like once on t.v.
:kodaksmiley:
Andrew Yang for President!!!

@Apollo i remember switzerland experimented with Universal Basic Income. How did it end up?

They refused the universal basic income. https://www.lesechos.fr/05/06/2016/...fuse-un-projet-inedit-de-revenu-universel.htm
But it's in french.
In summary, they refused because that it will cost a lot for the annual GDP , around 208 billions of FS. And the working class refused it because it will lead to more jealousy between those who work and non-workers who will gain a lot from the system.
It's reasonable and i'm against it too

I wish Somalia had a Donald Trump as a president. Funny, confident and efficient president. Farmajo is an insecure, unsure and powerless president tbh

Trump's been doing a decent job tbh. The economy's in good shape. Even though I despise the man and want him to die an excruciating death, he's delivered most of his campaign promises to his supporters.

I saw his bit with Joe Rogan yesterday. His idea is too radical to pass in America, but it will be interesting when he brings the topic of automation to the debates. There seems to be no alternative other than crippling innovation or implementing UBI. I think the republican party will slap him with a socialist label and kill any discussion from their end. Bernie can't dodge the question in the primaries though.

From what I've seen he doesn't seem to be all that into identity politics, which might be a good thing this election.

I've been saying this for a minute, but people are voting against their self-interest for short-term promises without thinking about long-term effects.

Most jobs are going to be automated, and people will have to take education geared toward maintaining this technology. Less educated people will be outperformed and will have a harder time getting jobs. Universal Basic Income is going to happen whether people like it or not. It's just a matter of when.

Bill Gates had a solution to this problem and said that if we tax these machines for the amount they produce, then that money can be used for things like Universal Basic Income.
