The British kept the peace between the tribes of Somaliland, established order, encouraged trade, prevented raidings and intertribal warfare, which are all admirable deeds. I’m not saying the British were amazing or anything, the truth is that they were extremely brutal in places such as India where tens of millions were starved in famines. But in our context, they weren’t this brutal coloniser out to steal our land.

The British didn’t give away the Ogaden to Ethiopia either.

The official British policy in all her colonies was to not sell firearms to the natives. The Abyssinians on the other hand imported firearms from the French who didn’t care. The result was that the Somalis in Galbeed we’re unable to obtain a sufficient amount of firearms to defend themselves, whilst the Abyssinians were stockpiling for over 15 years, and they colonised Galbeed.
