So if you learn history. Ajuran Empire had a powerful navy and had alliance with the Ottomans and they would do a joint naval expedition as for as southeast Asia removing the Portuguese influence across the Indian ocean.

The Ottomans even paid the Ajurans to protect their trading ships in the Indian Ocean against the Portuguese who were looking to weaken the Ottoman Empire economy, so basically the Ajurans protected the economy of the Ottomans.

Even though the Portuguese was a superpower back then. The Ajuran Empire had a powerful army that managed to defeat them several times and successfully resist their colonization in the southern Somali coast which was ruled by Ajurans.

after Trisatao da cunha failed to defeat the Ajuran and lost most of his men and equipment in their battles, the Portuguese Empire wanted to send the Teresinha fleet from Brazil to obliterate the Ajuran but Tristao send a letter to Don Manuel and told him even if we used all our fleets and throw everything we have against them it would be impossible to win the battle unscathed.

They withdrew and focused on their south eastern of Africa colony.

What about the Portuguese war against Adal, do you have any information regarding that?

It was two fronts, one against Adal and another against Anuran.

It was two fronts, one against Adal and another against Anuran.

Well, unlike Adal that had their ports sacked like Zeila and Berbera. The Ajurans managed to repel all of the Portuguese attacks and successfully resist their colonization against the benadir coast like Mogadishu, Barawa and other city ports.

However, when the Portuguese sacked Zeila and Berbera, they couldn't occupy them much longer as Somalis would eventually drove them out. Eventually, Zeila and Berbera was re-built but the capital was changed to Dakkar another powerful Somali city-state since the coast was vulnerable to Portuguese raids.

The only time Portuguese ever fought with the Adalites was when the Emperor Gelawdewos of Abyssinia called them after his Kingdom was conquered by Imam Ahmed Gurey.

Learn about the Abyssinian-Adal war during Imam Ahmed period.

"In 1529, the Adal Sultanate's forces led by Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Ghazi invaded the Ethiopian Empire in what is known as the Abyssinian–Adal war. The Adal occupation lasted for fourteen years. During the conflict, the Adal Sultanate employed cannons provided by the Ottoman Empire. In the aftermath of the war, Adal annexed Ethiopia, uniting it with territories in what is now Somalia. In 1543, with the help of the Portuguese Empire, the Solomonic dynasty was restored."

As you can see from the source. Adal troops which mostly consisted of ethnic Somalis successfully defeated the Abyssinians and colonized them for 14 years until Gelawdewos called the Portuguese to liberate Abyssinia. Gelawdewos and his Portuguese allies lost two battles against Imam Ahmed forces, the third battle Imam Ahmed forces were weakened and that's how he lost, yet he didn't call Ottoman mercenaries but got their weapons instead. If he decided to call his powerful Somali brethren in the south like Ajuran Empire or his closest Muslim ally like the Ottoman Empire. He would've still ruled Abyssinia and the Abyssinians today would've been Muslims.

@NourUgaas Just got back to reading Ethiopian historical revisionist tried to claiming Ahmed Gurey was Amhara, eastern Oromo, Harari or even Argobba. Audhubillah!
:mjlol:

Thankfully this honest Ethiopian historian said Ahmed Gurey was a Somali born from Zeila. It seems our cousins Afar also put in work during the Abyssinian-Adal war.
