Abdille had a number of previous convictions and was on bail for another offence at the time, which added 12 months.

Abdille lived in Blenheim for five years and worked in vineyards. She has convictions for threatening to pour petrol on a Red Cross member in Wellington and throwing a bucket of faeces over a Hastings constable.
