The incumbent 'Kulmiye' party has been in power for more than 2 decades and have failed to properly administer the Somaliland region of Somalia, They have a tribal mindset, so they give government positions to people that share the same tribe, to the exclusion of other tribes in the Somaliland region of Somalia.

This means the people in power are incompetent, because they've not selected on merit. This has caused the Somaliland region to be poor and stagnant, despite having 'peace'.

In comparison Mogadishu which is not as peaceful, as they suffer from terrorism, but are still more developed than Hargeisa (the capital of the Somaliland region).

This is why they're in a rush to sign 'infrastructure' agreements with fake foreign companies who scam the Somaliland region.

The wadani party are seen as reformists who want to be improve all these problems, but they too have problems of their own.
