Women do lose value, but not because they are single moms or divorced, or are "old", but because of other things like lack of class, ratchet and hood behavior, too loud and obnoxious.
A divorced woman with 10 kids with akhalq and modesty has way more value than a 20 year old who has none of those things. Same thing goes for men.

A divorced woman with 10 kids with akhalq and modesty has way more value than a 20 year old who has none of those things. Same thing goes for men.

I don't know who you associate with, but I have never come into contact with rachet or hood Somali girls. Most people I know have advanced degrees and are genteel/well-mannered. I only come across TikTok examples of caricatures. Also, there seem to be many contradictory messages floating around where they criticize women no matter their age, stage or life experience.

By the way, Somalis in the diaspora have a lot of ratchet culture, both males and females, so let's skip the part where we pretend this isn't true. I know at least a dozen dudes that I grew up with who are now either in jail or have been to prison. Similarly, I know similiar amount of chicks who have embraced the haram lifestyle. Somali people are the least cultured muslim immigrants in north america. These are things our people shouldn't be doing at all because we are Muslim and our culture is supposed to conservative, so what gives? I don't know where you're, but I'd have to question your honesty if you disagree with this.

I agree with you that extravagant weddings are a waste of money, I suspect the woman had something to do with it. Most men would prefer to keep the whole thing small. By the way, samaroons are doing better than the rest of Somali people.

As for your second point, you personally might not associate with degenerates, that I can believe but it doesn't mean these people don't exist. Young Somali people are very rebellious, I never understood why. Go to Toronto, you'll see young Somali men and women living like gaalo.
