What's the meaning of life? Why are we here?
That's a great question Ethan, Life has different definition in the eyes of different people. ... For many life is all about love. For a few, life is all about religious practices. For philosopher like Aristotle life is about happiness: "Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence."

The sad ramblings of a man whose thread has died before it could even live truly speak to me.
I will @ as many people as possible so they see your cries of help to the world as you speak to yourself, and hopefully revive your thread.

Before we pray janaza for this thread please do the right thing and revive it!!! For mudane Ethan!

I have family members that speak it. Even if you don't speak af-may you can recognize traces of Somali words but af-gare sounds totally foreign.

no it sounds closer to oromo, they can understand oromo and vice versa. it's basically a somalified dialect of oromo

Af garre is close to Afaan borana spoken by the borana clan which is an oromo subclan. Akkam meaning hello is the only word I know really and is the same in Oromo.
Its almost mutually intelligible to Somali though when I remember listening people speak it. Af Merca that I was told about a couple weeks ago is interesting to know more about. I think Af Merca would be closer to Af Maay. Also found out recently Af baraawe is like a dialect of Swahili but more pronounced arabic in it with their own local words.
