Come on Apollo, you can't be benefiting from immigration and then have the audacity to have issues with people migrating to your country!

That might be the case in Somalia. But in Somaliland, most higher end restaurants are owned by Somalis. Maansoor, Summertime, Ambassador, Sultan, Royal, etc are all Somali-owned. And not all small local restaurants are terrible. You've just got to explore more.

Walahi those hotel/restaurants you mentioned that are owned by Somalis in Hargeisa are unbelievable overpriced and are mediocre.

These Yemenis own the hole in the wall type of restaurants and produce delicious hot food with like 10% of what the qashin places like Mansoor serve

I was there this summer as you know. I have tried all the “high-end” restaurants of Hargeisa and was throughly disappointed. The prices and the food are incompetent like Africa herself.

I fell in love with a hole in the wall restaurants like this one (food and place looks unappealing but it was not only delicious their prices was a fraction of places like the Mansoor or the Ambassador hotels)

Their restaurant ads always busy.
One particular restaurant in downtown Hargeisa over packed in the evening. People sitting packed like sardined.
I find it strange that there are Arab refugees in Somaliland even if it is relatively stable, it is also quite poor.

Most areas in Somalia/Somaliland are lagging behind places in the Arab world that are war-torn, places like Iraq, Libya and even Syria.

Somali food is shocking. Literally only Somalis say it's nice or "one of the best in africa". We're right next to India and Arabia yet our food is bland and gross.

I had Ethiopian food when I went to Juba in 2016; I really enjoyed it.

On everything I think Ethiopian food is uneatable yet alone better than Somali food. I find injeera absolutely disgusting, both Somali and the sour Ethiopian version. I consider their cuisine starvation food, something you eat only to stave off starvation. Maybe I just had one too many bad meals but there just isn't any flavour to their food and just too raw & sour.

"Somali food" is really just a mix of Indian/Middle eastern cuisines....none of which are unique to Somalia. We are nomads, our true traditional cuisine are bush berries & nuts.

anyway I say this acknowledging that Ethiopian food is VERY popular in the West.

There are Arabs in Mogadishu as well, even Galkacyo, idk why they'd want to come but it is what it is, idk if they're all Yemeni, maybe some Syrians.

Also everyone praising Yemenis here but didn't they treat our refugees terribly? We Africans are just too nice towards outsiders.
