A study on why sexual morality may be far more important than you ever thought

Tldr; complete sexual freedom leads to a collapse of culture. Some moral laws will seem to limit human pleasure in the short term, but will prevent great suffering or maximize happiness and fulfillment in the long term.

Good article, now I’m asking will the belief of god drop if it the society religion was not a abrahamic one, for example Greek paganism(With one of their god representing sexual freedom).

:hillarybiz: Strict chasity and absolute monogamy is sublime. Most of you "want my cake and want to eat it too" types aka heathens have contributed in some small measure to society's tiptoe into decadence and decay.

Both the Greeks and Romans were sexually free. They had some of the most advanced civilizations.

Nope ....
I see you haven't bothered to read.
Of the 86 cultures studied all of them went through a period of growth and decline then Collapse.
When they were progressing and growing building empires, developing art, culture and science they were a monogamous.

When the wealth from conquests trade routes and massive number of slaves flowed in, it led to one hell of an orgy the author calls it " with monotonous predictability".
That means it happens in every case , exactly the same way all 86 cultures give the same result.

Us Muslims avoid social issues when looking back into our history, they are more interested in battles , futux and raids or religious affairs.
It is embarrassing to accept but we had periods of sexual freedom in certain Islamic countries.

The places that reached the highest level of living where the most free and they all collapsed spectacularly.

During the Islamic golden age , parts of Afghanistan and eastern Persia were shockingly liberal for example alcohol was normal and nearly everyone drank. There was a bar/taverna in nearly every suburb if a big city or town, in little villages.
Premarital sex was more accepted
If you look up the poetry of Omar Khayyam it paints an interesting picture .
The dude was going from bar to bar picking up chicks and banging them like a drum after seducing them.

This was the 12th century.
Andalusia from 11 to 12 centuries was even more liberal than Balkh and eastern Persia even though they had the same level of development.
The Christians were deeply offended by the depravity of the andalusian taifa states.
There are stories of visitors from medieval Europe visiting Cordova and Seville and getting scandalized.
It's like taking an Afghan tribesman and throwing him in a Mediterranean swingers and nudist resort.
Lol.

Similar case in parts of Syria , but Iraq was always conservative but Baghdad was the exception large cities attract all sorts .

Oh and I forgot to mention hijab in many regions it was unheard of.

The ancient Greeks and Romans were only monogamous with fellow citizens. Men were free to have sex with slaves, prostitutes and or foreigners.

Adultery was banned in 31BC but only with citizens.

If you read the article and snippets of the book you will see that this wasn't the problem.
The problem is when women are adulterous.
This will surely trigger feminists on this forum, the reason they are not screaming and raising a fuss in this thread is because like you they didn't look into the article like you.

How about Sparta?
Sparta remained a power for hundreds of years because of its milltary prowess but they were the most sexually conservative Greek city state. Spartans applied strict monogamy and persecuted homosexuals.
While the rest of the city states like Thebes were nearly every prebucent boy was getting pounded by a peadophile .
Cheating wives common too.

Spartan women had equality and after the pleponesian war , they took control of the economy and practically controlled the 2 kings behind the scenes .
Mighty conservative Sparta became a gynocracy . With all that power what do you expect happened?
Women could do whatever they want.
If the average Spartan soldier even a noble gets an allowance from his wife while she runs the farm, businesses , do you think she will care if she sleeps with other men?

It's her right to do what she wants society can't do shit. And unsurprisingly within 3 generations Sparta was nothing z it toon a small push and it shattered.

That’s what I’m saying, they want to get rid of women’s rights and give rights to pedophiles. They’re going in a circle, they’re gonna turn into primates. We Somalis were always superior
:hahaidiot:

Just read the article this part stood out to me.

3. The swiftness with which rational thinking declined after the 1970’s is astounding.
"People can now “identify” themselves as something which flat-out contradicts science and rational thinking and, in many cases, receive the full support and backing of governments and educational systems. Not only do people feel they have a right to believe what they want, but any challenge to that belief, even if supported by truth and logic, is unacceptable and offensive"

Describes the LGBT movement perfectly!

Actually Sparta did also practice pedophelia,
Basically most/all cadaans did back in the day..maybe that’s why there’s such a large amount of pedophiles in their communities, they’d probably love having that practice back 🤢🤢🤢🤢
