There are plenty (neuroscientists, astrophysicists, chemists, etc.) researchers are not public figures though so they won’t be lauded like politicians. It’s gruelling hard work and the discoveries made are their life’s work. I understand where you’re coming from but they can’t be compared.

This Dutch professor who teaches at an American university was asked the difference between Dutch students and Americans. He said a smart Dutch student will study chemistry, an American will study law.

Ten world class Somali aids researchers won't change our situation but ten talented politicians might change the political landscape for the better.

We don’t know much about them because researchers are not public figures unless they win prestigious awards abaayo. Politicians by profession are public figures.

I am from a family that looks down on social sciences and humanities, so I get where you’re coming from, but a win is a win. These politicians effect policy that effect Somali families. I applaud them. As long as it’s not a story about rape, gangs iyo balayo kale.
